The Brazilian Confederations of Agriculture and Livestock, CNA in Portuguese, promoted on Tuesday (8), during the 4th National Congress of Women in Agriculture, in São Paulo, the International Business Round table, a meeting between exporters of food and producers of specialty coffees and fruits.

According to Thiago Masson, CNA’s International Relations advisor, the initiative is part of a set of actions focused on opening new marketing channels for small and medium-scale producers.

“The round table was a way to value the work of women who lead the fruit and coffee production chains. We support producers who have done their homework inside the gate and who are looking for support to enter the international market” he said.

Producer Márcia Bichara, from Sítio Cafezal em Flor, a farm in São Paulo, attended the meeting and said it was a chance to find buyers for her product, which is handcrafted in Monte Alegre do Sul, in the state of Sao Paulo.

“I already have a market here in Brazil, but I know that abroad I will find new buyers. Even though I am a small producer, I know that I have the structure to increase the production of specialty coffees and to adapt to the demand.”

For the representative of exporter KBZ Brazil, Luana Frimm Kriegr, the round table was important to know the history behind the coffee and the care that producers have with the grains and packaging of the product.

“I believe many companies are already ready to export. Others only need to meet the requirements of importers. This meeting has a great weight because it makes it easier to find the right product.”

According to CNA International Relations technical advisor Camila Tabet, the idea is to provide a business environment for producers and trading representatives who need these products.

“We note that some companies want exactly the kind of product that Brazilian producers offer. So making this connection between supply and demand is fantastic and that’s why we’re here.”

Ana Cristina Lopes, partner at Liser Comércio e Representação, a Brazilian export trader, said that the international market is open to Brazilian products, especially differentiated, value-added and socially responsible products.

“It is very good to participate in this initiative and to know about these projects. This support to small producers is fundamental! I met products with a lot of export potential and I’m taking home a new portfolio of products to consider. I hope to close deals. ”

Patrícia Nogueira is a lychee producer in Minas Gerais and this type of initiative helps the Brazilian product to reach the foreign market faster. “Export has become a dream that this year will come true. CNA is being a key partner. It’s giving us the opportunity to talk to people interested in buying a differentiated product.”

Café Aequitas representative Isabel Vilela said that the initiative of the CNA/Senar System was important to meet the demands of importing countries. “Our goal is to be the connection between producers and buyers.”
