At the end of 2024, Minas Gerais welcomed a delegation of international buyers eager to discover what makes Brazilian coffee so special. Representatives from countries like South Korea, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Singapore, Mexico, Turkey, the United States, and Canada participated in an immersive experience in the Campos das Vertentes region in Minas, renowned for its Geographical Indication (GI) and tradition of producing high-quality coffee.
The initiative, organized by the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Minas Gerais (FAEMG) with the support of the Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA), offered an opportunity to showcase not only products but also the commitment of Brazilian producers to excellence and sustainability.
The visitors explored three coffee farms, the Sancoffee Specialty Coffee Cooperative, and the Santo Antônio do Amparo Family Farmers Association (AFASA Café). According to Rodrigo da Matta, CNA’s Coordinator of Commercial Promotion, the action was much more than a technical visit. “This experience allowed buyers to understand the context behind Brazilian coffee, from the beans’ origin to the processes that ensure their quality.”
Jaime Pacheco Duarte Neto, a coffee producer assisted by the Technical and Managerial Assistance program (ATeG) of SENAR Minas, voiced his pride in welcoming visitors from different cultures to his farm. “Hosting people from so many countries fills us with pride and inspires us to keep improving our work.”
Rosilene Bandera, CNA’s International Relations Advisor, emphasized that initiatives like this strengthen the global image of Brazilian coffee. “These actions highlight not only the quality of our products but also the sustainable practices and their positive impact on local communities.”
With quality, tradition, and commitment, Minas Gerais coffee continues to carve out new markets and palates worldwide.
