Brazilian agribusiness reaffirms its global relevance in 2024, with exports totaling US$ 152.6 billion from January to November. This worth is expected to reach US$ 166 billion by the end of the year, consolidating the sector accounting for 49% of the country’s export agenda.
Notable highlights include the increase in exports to the United States, which grew by 23% during the period, and to the European Union, with an 8.8% increase. Asian markets, such as Indonesia and Vietnam, also showed remarkable results, recording increases of 16.6% and 12.3%, respectively.
Grain Production and Livestock Increase
The livestock sector showed significant progress, particularly in beef production, which increased by 6.6% in 2024, reaching 11.53 million tons. Milk production also increased 1.2%, reinforcing Brazil’s position as one of the largest global producers.
In grain growing, crops like rice and beans performed positively, increasing by 5.52% and 6.82%, respectively.
New Market Openings and Trade Diplomacy
The year was also marked by trade and diplomatic accomplishments. Around 280 new market openings were announced, including access to the Chinese market for fresh grapes and 15 new markets for meat products. Additionally, agreements within the Brazil-China relations strengthened bilateral trade while celebrating 50 years of diplomatic ties.
Brazil further consolidated its leadership role in the Halal market, with a 25.8% increase in shipments to the Arab League in the first half of 2024.
