Brazilian coffee took center stage at the recent International Coffee Week (SIC), held in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. As one of the largest coffee events in the world, SIC gathered producers, buyers, experts, and companies to foster business opportunities, share knowledge, and discuss global market trends.

CNA and Agro.BR’s Participation
The Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA) and the Agro.BR Program played a key role in the event by organizing business rounds that connected Brazilian coffee producers with international buyers. These sessions showcased the diversity of Brazilian coffee, including specialty and organic varieties, highlighting the country’s role as a supplier of high-quality products to the global market.
Workshops and lectures addressed sustainable practices, technological innovations, new market opportunities, as well as other topics. These activities provided strategic insights to help producers navigate the challenges of the coffee sector.

Insights on Coffee Production Costs
One of the event’s highlights was the presentation of results from the Campo Futuro project, which gathers and analyzes data on agricultural production costs in Brazil. These insights support producers in optimizing their operations and enhancing their market competitiveness.

Launch of the Coffee Geographical Indications (GIs) Platform
During SIC, the CNA Institute, in partnership with the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI) and SEBRAE, launched the Coffee Geographical Indications (GIs) Platform. This initiative aims to promote certified coffee-producing regions and increase their visibility in international markets.
GI certification recognizes unique features of a product’s origin, such as climate, growing methods, and local traditions. The platform seeks to raise the profile of these coffees, connecting them with consumers who appreciate authenticity and traceability.

Brazilian Coffee on the Global Stage
SIC underscored Brazil’s role as one of the world’s leading coffee producers. The initiatives presented by CNA and its partners highlight ongoing efforts to connect producers with new markets and add value to Brazilian coffee.
Brazilian coffee continues to expand globally, combining quality, innovation, and the rich heritage of its producing regions.
